Watcha Wearin January | Week 3

Jan 21, 2017

I’m back for my third week of sharing what handmade pieces I wore over the last seven days.  Tibeca of Sewing by Ti is hosting this blogging series all month long. Whatcha Wearin January, for me, is just a visual way to show how easy it is to incorporate handmade into your daily wears.

Let’s get to it!

Jan 15: Stripes and plaid are my jam.  And when I mash them together, I love them even more.  This is the Patterns for Pirates women’s henley (without the placket) and it’s one of my favorite pieces in my closet.  I think this has stuck around since October 2015…so it’s a keeper for sure.

The plaid is from Girl Charlee HERE and the stripes are a ponte that I found on Fabric.com (SIMILAR).

Jan 16: This shirt is a fun one, only because it was an upcycle project of mine.  I went shopping at Old Navy recently, looking for uniform clothes for Louis’ school, and instead I found this 2XL mens shirt for $3.  Using this Nicole Miller fabric from JoAnn Fabrics, that I already had lying around, this was a cheap top to add to my closet!  (You can see the original tee I upcycled from on my Instagram HERE.)

And of course, this is YET ANOTHER P4P Slimfit Raglan of mine.  #cantstopwontstop

Jan 17: If you’ve known me and my sewing even the slightest big, you’d know that this is another M4M Mama Mya of mine.  SORRY!  I just like the fit of certain shirts so I keep making them.  I blogged this shirt along with some peglegs in THIS post, if you want to see more pictures.

The fabric for this Mya is a thermal knit that I found on Fabric.com forever ago.  I couldn’t find red on their site anymore, but this “earth grey” color would be a dream!

And psssst!!  You can get this design for your shirt as an IRON-ON or DIGITAL DOWNLOAD from my shop!

Jan 18: I switched it up ever so slightly with my choice in clothing.  My pants and tee underneath are storebought (for shame! haha) but the cardigan is me-made.  It’s Patterns for Pirates’ Cocoon Cardigan in a delicious buffalo plaid sweater knit.  You can see more pictures from when we released the pattern on my blog HERE.

When I originally shared my link to the fabric, I think it was bought up by everyone in the Pirate group, haha.  But Fabric.com does have a cute purple plaid HERE that would work for it!

Jan 19: This is such a fun top to wear and I keep forgetting to make myself more!  Made for Mermaids’ Mama Blair is adorable…it’s a vneck raglan with a few different hem options, one of which is this cute ruffle hem.  I made this one during testing and you can see more pictures HERE if you wanna.

From what I can tell, the fabric I used as the main bodice is sold out online.  But you could totally pair THIS green with THIS floral for an insanely pretty top!

Jan 20: Yep.  Another Slimfit Raglan.  I’ll be sharing more pictures of this cutie sometime next week when I get around to blogging it.  This pizza fabric from RP Custom Fabrics is ten shades of awesome.  (PS, it’s on pre-order right now in case you neeeeeed it for yourself.)

I paired the pizzas with THIS french terry from Fabric.com.  It’s soft and stretchy and comfy.  Love it.

Jan 21: You’re getting to see my just-out-of-the-shower-wet-hair look.  Woot!  Today I’m wearing anooooooother Slimfit Raglan.  This one is made mostly from a jersey knit sheet that I bought from Target.  Sometimes their sheet sets go on sale, are in cute prints (or this basic grey which is a good staple to keep around) and are cheaper than what you’d pay in yardage for similar fabric.  It’s awesome for muslins, or for regular tops!

The sleeve fabric I paired it with isn’t available online anymore, but THIS would be super cute to use instead!  (And the design on my shirt is available in my shop as an IRON-ON and a DIGITAL DOWNLOAD!)
